A Family Place Library™ since 2017

WHAT IS A FAMILY PLACE LIBRARY?

Family Place builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement, and supportive communities play a critical role in a young child's growth and development. The overall goal of Family Place Libraries is to develop and institutionalize a family friendly environment by transforming libraries into community centers for literacy, early childhood development, parent education and engagement, family support, and community information.

CORE COMPONENTS OF A FAMILY PLACE LIBRARY:

TRAINED STAFF

Assistant Library Director Gretchen Hardin, Public Services Librarian Terry Lewis, and Youth Services Specialist Melissa Burke all completed the Family Place Training Institute in Long Island, New York.

COLLECTIONS

We offer parents and caregivers a wide-ranging collection of parenting resources. Materials are available in print and electronic format. Family Place Libraries™ offers an extensive selection of online resources available HERE and parenting apps available HERE.
